In 2025, Knoxville Ronald McDonald House Charities proudly celebrates 40 years of service to our community. Since 1985, we have been a home away from home for families with critically ill children, offering comfort, support, and care during their most challenging times.
Over the past four decades, thanks to the generosity of our supporters and the dedication of our volunteers, we’ve provided thousands of families with a warm place to stay, meals , and the love of a community when they need it most.
RMHC Knoxville gives families with a child who is sick exactly what they need most – each other.
Tennessee’s first Ronald McDonald House opened in Knoxville on March 8, 1985. Since opening our doors, we have provided a home for nearly 60,000 people. Our families have come from 41 states, 10 foreign countries, and virtually every medical facility that treats pediatric patients.
The Ronald McDonald House of Knoxville provides a “home-away-from-home” for families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. The House provides a comfortable, supportive, temporary residence near the medical facility where family members can sleep, eat, relax and find support from other families in similar situations.
